How to Grow Bonsai Pomegranate Trees?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.thanks

Pomegranate Bonsai trees are also known as dwarf pomegranates. As the name suggests, they share much in common with their larger brethren with the exception of size: the fruit, flowers, leaves and the overall height of the plant are much smaller. These small trees have beautiful reddish-orange flowers and produce small, 2-inch fruits when properly tended.

1.
Step 1

Plant the tree in a deep pot or planter. The plant’s mature height will be 3 feet; an appropriate pot size will be in the 5-gallon range. If you live in a tropical region you may be able to plant directly in the ground, but most individuals need to be able to move their tree in and out, according to the weather, as the pomegranate bonsai does not respond well to cold temperatures.
2.
Step 2

Position your pomegranate Bonsai Tree so that it receives regular sunlight year-round. The location should be protected from wind and cold weather. If you are keeping the plant in the home, a south-facing window will give the plant access to more light.
3.
Step 3

Water the plant thoroughly and regularly. Pomegranate bonsais are tropical by nature and prefer constantly moist soil. Keep the soil moist, but not soggy, to facilitate better production of the tasty pomegranates.
4.
Step 4

Fertilize your tree every two weeks during the growing season (spring through fall). The best fertilizer ratio will be low in nitrogen but high in phosphorous and potassium.
5.
Step 5

Prune the plant at the end of each growing season so that just two or three leaf sets are left. This ensure vitality in the plant each following year.
6.
Step 6

Train branches gently if you want to create a specific shape in your tree. Use wire to hold them in place. The branches are brittle and easy to break, so use extreme care when manipulating the vegetation.
7.
Step 7

Bring the plant inside anytime harsh winds or cool temperatures (less than 60 degrees F). Pomegranate bonsais will also do well in greenhouses during colder months provided the temperature is kept warm.
