Learn How To Grow a Bonsai Tree   by Paul Smith

There are some simple rules that can help the Bonsai Beginners who may wonder how to grow a tree and quickly learn the art. The essence of the bonsai art is to create a tree in its miniature version. The so-called air layering method is ideal for making sprout roots once they are separated from the tree. Choose a branch with a beautiful shape to begin with and remember that this small in size tree will bring you delight for years to come. The period needed for the seed development into a nice bonsai masterpiece can take 5 years or even more. The following steps will help you understand how to grow a bonsai tree:

1. Make research on how to grow a bonsai tree to be acquainted with some of the peculiarities and requirements of the plants – their different types, soil requirements, watering and environmental needs as well as some basic growth principles.

2. When choosing the tree type, take into consideration the geographic location you live in. Some tree are deciduous and need a freezing winter in order to develop properly and to be ready for the spring. However, other cannot survive during cold winters with temperatures below freezing point. The same thing applies to watering. While one bonsai tree needs much water, especially during the hot summers, the other species prefer dry soil. Therefore, it is necessary to know the different species peculiarities in order to know how to grow a bonsai tree.

3. It is a time to select the plant’s size. Do this before choosing the plant as this will make then your bonsai species choice easier. The tree size could be as miniature as 6 inches or up to 3 feet tall.

4. Selection of the right plant is very important, so visualize the future bonsai tree before buying it. Choose healthy plant only with vivid leaves colors.

5. After bringing the plant home, you need to repot it in a larger pot, so the roots could be covered with enough soil. Balancing the pot with the tree is an essence of learning how to grow a bonsai tree. Do not forget to cut drainage holes, if the selected pot does not have pre-drilled holes.

The main trunk and branches of this sculpture are made of 20 and 26 gauge steel galvanized wire, giving the surface a matte gray finish. The outer twigs and hundreds of hammered leaves are created of 26 gauge brass wire. The combination of the two types of wire gives the sculpture a lifelike and very full appearance. In contrast to the multi colors of the tree, the sculpture is planted into a simple 8″ round grass covered base. The grass is created by using several types of sand which is painted in green, yellow and white and which will not fade.

Created by combining 3 different types of wire. Base structure is 24 gauge steel galvanized wire and the outer layers are 26 gauge brass and 26 gauge gold color wire.
