Bonsai Ilex

bonsai – my ilex (holly) Bonsai Tree leaves are withering (pics included)?
the leaves have got all dry and have started to bend inwards and a few have started to drop off
is it because of the posistion (i place it on a windowsill which gets quite a lot of sun, as there are no buildings near there to block the sun for some of the day.
or is it due to watering… too much or too little. a few days ago i placed it in a shallow sink of water for 10 minutes and everyday i spray it with water on the leaves and make sure the surface of the soil is moist.
do i need to feed it? i have only had it for about 3 weeks, and i have just bought some bonsai liquid feeder. i havent put it on yet but i am about to. and il see wether that makes a difference.
thanks for the advice as i am a beginner in bonsai.

It needs to be kept outside. In Japan they have special display stands in the garden to keep bonsai on. The plants can be brought indoors for short periods for display but will not be happy inside all the time. Its unlikely to be suffering from overwatering if it has been kept in full sun. Holly naturally grows in woodland in the shade of taller trees. Bonsai is not at all easy – I suggest you borrow a book from the library with a lot more detail. Good luck.
